Mullah Nasrudin used to cross people by boat. Once an arrogant grammar teacher paid him to go from one bank to the other of a wide and flowing river.

As soon as they left the bank, the teacher asked him if the crossing would be smooth.

Nasrudin then asked, "Do you know how to swim?"

- No! replied the master, trembling.

To which Nasrudin said: "So you have lost ALL of your life, because this boat is sinking."
