al-Warraq was walking on the streets of Damascus when he saw al-Attaabi eating on the street.

- Woe to you! Aren't you ashamed to eat on the street? said al-Warraq.

- Suppose you were in a shed where only cows are present. Would you be ashamed if you ate in front of them? replied al-Attaabi.

"No," replied al-Warraq.

- Right. Wait ... I will prove to you that these people here are all cows.


So al-Attaabi got up and called people: "We had been told, through various chains, of a hadith that says that anyone whose tongue can reach the top of the nose will not enter Hell!"


So none of those present refused to try to put their tongues on their noses.


When the crowd dispersed, he said to al-Warraq: "See? Didn't I say they were all cattle?"
